Graveside services for Casner McDaniel will be 3:00 PM Monday, April 5, 2010 in the Locklin Cemetery near San Gabriel, Texas, with Chaplain Margaret Clemings officiating.

Visitation is also Monday from Noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home in Rockdale.

Casner McDaniel the last of seven children, was born August 25, 1913 in Buckholts to Hubert and Clara (McDavid) King.

On November 8, 1930, she and James Lee McDaniel were married in Thorndale by Rev. Boow. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, especially pies. She was a member of San Gabriel Baptist Church where she served as president of the Sunday school class and was very active in church as a young adult. She lived in San Gabriel until she came to Rockdale in 1973.

Casner passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale, reaching the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband James Lee on August 20, 1991. Their son, James "Dick" McDaniel, their daughter, Laverne McDaniel, a grandson, Louis McDaniel, her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are her children, two sons, Monty McDaniel and wife Charlyne of Thorndale, Danny McDaniel of Austin. Two daughters, Delores Lightsey of Rockdale and Nancy Leggett of Rockdale. Nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
