Final Rites Are Held for Local Woman

Funeral services for Mrs. Dewey Anderson, 53, were conducted in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Jack Merritt officiating.

Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Pall bearers were Bud Judd, Kade west, Jean Williamson, Ed Schur, Dr. Ralph Flesher, Lee Robertson and Bill Thomas.

Names as honorary pall bearers were W. C. Fleming, Z. P. Pilgreen, Jack Neal, M. B. Pybus, Mark Neal, Forrest Orr, Lawrence McCaleb, R. B. Tanner, Freddy Gugisberg, Shelby Hammack, Roy Abbott, Warren Pruitt, H. B. Dockery, Paul Peterson, Robert Henry, A. C. Boger, Randal Boucher, H. M. Reis, Dr. J. J. Muirhead, Hugh Colwell, Sam Garlington, H. C. Nelson, George Veteto, Ernest Schur and John Huber.

Mrs. Anderson died in a local hospital Monday. She had been ill for several months.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Quanah March 23, 1906 to Mr. And Mrs. Will Stephenson, well known pioneers of that section. She and Mr. Anderson were married in Vernon Feb 12, 1939. The Anderson home is south of Vernon.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and formerly superintedndent of Nursery No. 1. She was also active in 4-H club work.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Charles Anderson; a daughter, Karon LaJean, both of Vernon, a brother Ralph Stephenson of San Antonio; a sister, Mrs. Buford Hammack of Vernon; and two nephews, Stanford Hammack of Garland and Charles Stephenson of San Antonio.
