Obituary:
Rites were held last week for Fred STABEL, 71, father of Mrs. Ed PULS of Perryton and a longtime Lipscomb county resident.

He was born to Henry STABEL and Anna Elizabeth Schoenhals STABEL on September 29, 1897, in Lehigh, Marion county, Kansas.

He moved with his family to Shattuck, Okla., in 1901 and to Lipscomb county in 1912.

Mr. STABEL was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a life-long member of the Lutheran church. For years, he was a deacon of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lipscomb, and was a charter member of the church.

On December 16, 1923, he was married to Anna LAUBHAN by Rev. F. LEFFLER at St. John's. Five children were born to this union.

Active in community life, Mr. STABEL engaged in farming in the Booker community, and served on Booker school board. Since 1954, Mr. and Mrs. STABEL have made their home in Darrouzett.

Following a heart attack on June 1, he was a patient in Ochiltree General Hospital, Perryton, being dismissed on June 28 to convalesce at home. He had attended church services for the first time following his illness on July 27.

Mr. STABEL died at the home on Tuesday morning, July 29.

Surviving are his wife, Anna of Darrouzett; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Alvina) GLASGOW of Amarillo, Mrs. Edward (Leona) PULS of Perryton, and Mrs. Lenora BRASWELL of Rialto, Calif., two sons, Arthur STABEL and Elmer STABEL, both of Booker; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
