Roy Lynn Mitchell, 61, of Andrews passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home in Andrews.
Mr. Mitchell was born October 11, 1950 in Seminole, Texas to Marion Thomas and Lillian Lorene Mitchell. He has been a lifelong resident of Andrews. He married Ellen Raenelle Murphy July 3, 1971 in Andrews.
He worked for Amoco for several years until he retired in 2000. He loved to make knives. He loved to hunt and fish when his health would allow him to. He loved to take his dog "Rosie Jo" places with him. Roy loved to cook and "experiment" with food. He loved his family and really loved spending time with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ed Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen R. Mitchell of Andrews; son Tom Mitchell and his wife Mandi of Lubbock; daughter, Melody Greathouse and her husband Billy of Odessa; sister, Brenda Gray of Andrews and two grandsons, Kanyon Greathouse and Ethan Mitchell. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
