G.T. (Jim) Barnett, 87, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in Chillicothe. Graveside services Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Chillicothe Cemetery with the Rev. Wallace Clay officiating. Interment under the direction of Smith Chapel in Chillicothe.
He was born Dec. 16, 1926, just south of Chillicothe, a son of the late Roy T. and Augusta Bogard Barnett. He married Darlene Lutz on Sept. 24, 1960, in Vernon. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Barnett was a custom harvester and farmer all his life and also was employed as a school bus driver. Barnett served on the Farmers Coop Board, Federal Land Bank, Hardeman County Appraisal District and Heritage Foundation. He enjoyed playing the guitar and playing in bands. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by a brother, R.T. Barnett Jr.
Survivors include his wife, of Chillicothe; a son, Jimmy Barnett of Chillicothe; a daughter, Sherry Coffman of Lubbock; a brother, David Barnett of Jasper; three sisters, Gerri Bell of Crowell, JoAnn White of Durby, Kan., and Margaret Brewer of Richardson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Dorlene Barnett, 91 of Vernon, Texas passed on Friday, September 21, 2018, in Vernon, Texas.
Graveside services will be held Monday September 24, 2018 at 2:00pm at Chillicothe Cemetery with Rev. Bob Nusser officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Dorlene was born Thursday, May 19, 1927 in Harrold Texas. She was the daughter of the late George Lutz and the late Katie Donges Lutz. Dorlene married GT (Jim) Barnett September 24, 1960 in Vernon, Texas; he preceded her in death February 9, 2014. Dorlene was a homemaker and she was a member of First Baptist Church of Chillicothe.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Barnett and wife Kelli of Chillicothe, TX, one daughter, Sherry Coffman and husband Kevin of Lubbock, TX. Grandchildren Haley Coffman, Kendra Mitchell and husband Ryan, Cale Barnett, Kenli Barnett, Cade Barnett, Case Barnett and great grandchildren Watson Warren, Brooks Warren Rylan Warren and McKinley Mitchell.
Visitation will be Sunday September 23, 2018 from 6-7pm at Sullivan Funeral Home
