Graveside services for Hugo Mendoza, age 24 of Odessa, Texas will be held Friday, May 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Pastor Tony Cruz officiating. A memorial with Military Honors will be held at a later date. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole, Texas.
Mr. Mendoza was born in Denver City, Texas August 21, 1995 to Mercy Arenivas and Ernesto Mendoza, Sr. He was a Catholic and worked in the oilfield. He served his country in the United States Marines for five years. Hugo was the life of the party and had an infectious smile. He was a very loving friend to everyone and enjoyed being with his family. His nieces and nephews were his everything.
Hugo Mendoza passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home in Odessa, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Mendoza, Sr. in 2014 and his maternal grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Mercy Arenivas of Pecos, Texas; three brothers, Ernesto Mendoza, Jr. and wife Daniela of Wink, Texas, Michael Mendoza and girlfriend Maritza Castillo of Kermit, Texas, and Angel Mendoza of Kermit, Texas; three sisters, Michelle Salinas and husband Hector of Kermit, Texas, America Mendoza and boyfriend Michael Rodriguez of Odessa, Texas, and Cheyenne Eastep of Kermit, Texas; Paternal grandparents, Francisco and Socorro Mendoza of Seminole, Texas; maternal grandmother, Maria Arenivas of Pecos, Texas; maternal great-grandfather, Jose Bravo of Pecos, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.
