John A Duke, 82, of Higgins, Texas died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L.A. Baxter, 1717 N. St. Francis Ave., with whom he was visiting. He is a Civil War veteran, serving as Sgt. for three years in Company B, 33rd Regiment, Missouri Volunteers. Besides his daughter he is survived by two sons, G.P., of Lipscomb, and H.K., of California; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. City Undertaking Company has charge. The body will probably be taken to Higgins for burial.
