CORDELL, Okla. - Charles Evans, 76, a former Stinnett resident, died Sunday, Feb. 21, in Cordell, Okla.

Services are pending with Brown Funeral Directors.

Mr. Evans was a native of Beaver County, Okla., and long-time area resident. He married Floriene Larkey on Sept. 27, 1947 in Borger.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy as a submariner. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stinnett.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl A. Evans in 1969; his mother, Grace I. Evans in 1987 and his sister, Gladys Winter in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Floriene; two sons, Mike Hardin and Lee Hardin, both of Cordell, Okla.; one daughter, Cheryl Evans Kliewer of Cordell, Okla.; two brothers, Wayne Evans of Borger and Keith Evans of Stinnett; five grandchildren, Tracie Betacourt of Fresno, Calif., Todd A. Evans of Tucson, Ariz., Kim Whitmire and Angela Cox, both of Weatherford and Shawn Hardin of San Francisco, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren, including Kailani and Blake Evans of Tucson, Ariz., and Tyler Whitmire of Weatherford.

CORDELL, Okla. - Floriene Larkey Evans, 80, formerly of Stinnett, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Clinton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Stinnett with the Rev. Orville Rogers, pastor, and the Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger, Texas.

Mrs. Evans was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stinnett.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Hardin of Cordell and Lee Hardin of Clinton; a daughter, Cheryl Evans Kleiwer of Cordell; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The body will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. today until 1 p.m. Friday at Brown's Memorial Chapel in Stinnett.
