SPEARMAN - Funeral services for Byron Neil Jameson, 30, of 922 S. Barkley, will be at 4 p.m. today in the First Christian Church.

The Rev. Don Wirsdorfer, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Wesley Daniel, pastor of the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers of Spearman.

Jameson was pronounced dead on arrival about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. He died of a gunshot wound.

Hansford County Sheriff J.B. Cooke found Jameson lying on the courthouse parking lot about 4 p.m. Tuesday. He was treated for a chest wound at Hansford County Hospital before being transferred to Northwest Texas Hospital.

No foul play is suspected in the incident, Sheriff Cooke said.

Jameson was born in Amarillo on Sept. 22, 1940 and was a longtime resident of Spearman. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jameson of Spearman.
