SPEARMAN - Lyndle Cook, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Morse with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
On Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, Lyndle Cook put off this corruptible world. He put on incorruption and beheld the Glory of the Lord of his life, and the Savior of his soul, Jesus, and began eternity with Him.
Lyndle was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Kiefer, Okla., to George Burton and Mamie Bessie Lovett Cook. He attended Seminole High School. He then worked for Tulsa Iron Works. He served in the U.S. Army and survived the heaviest battle of World War II, the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland Watch and Central Europe campaign.
He returned from the war and married Agnes Lucille Smirl on Aug. 17, 1945, in Borger. She preceded him in death on April 14, 1997. Lyndle attended Southwestern Assembly of God Bible College in Waxahachie. He was an ordained minister and lay preacher. He spread the Gospel in church services, street services, jail services and everyday life.
He worked in the oil fields in the Borger area, at Stinnett ISD and retired from Morse ISD in 1975. After retirement, Lyndle was the community and area "Mr.-Fix-It."
His gracious wisdom, knowledge, caring and love will be missed by all who met him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a son, Mickey Lee and wife Elaine of Spearman; a daughter, Carolyn Lucille Taylor and husband Max of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Lucile Munday of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon Sunday until service time at Brown's Memorial Chapel in Stinnett.

MORSE - Lucille Cook, 72, died Friday April 4, 1997, in the Spearman Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, 1997, at First Baptist Church in Morse with the Rev. Mike Martin, officiating.
Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.
A native of Rockwell, she had been a Morse resident for 32 years.
Mrs. Cook was a former beautician and spent most of her years as a minister's wife.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie (Passons) Smirl.
Survivors include her husband, Lyndle L. Cook of Morse; one son, Mickey Cook of Spearman; two daughters, Carolyn Taylor of Levelland and Lynda Badeaux of Bossier City, La; two sisters, Virginia Rhodes of Midkiff and Hazel Snyder of Harlingen; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
