KENEFIC, Okla. - Joe Steve Ashford, 96, formerly of Borger, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Durant.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Coleman Church of Christ in Coleman. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery in Borger by Brown's Funeral Service of Durant.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Shipman Wilson Ashford.

*Obituary for Vera
Vera Pauline Ashford, 82, of Borger died Monday, Feb. 10,1997 at Golden Plains Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jake Sebastian of Monroe Street Church of Christ, officiating, and assisted by Mr. Roy Haley of the church.
Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Ashford was born in Kenefic, Okla. and had been a Borger resident for 50 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Monroe Church of Christ. She married Joe Steve Ashford on Nov. 18, 1933 in Durant, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nola Jackson Culipher.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Ashford of the home; one son, Jimmy Ashford of Borger; one daughter, Joyce Barnett of Irving; one brother Wilmer Slaton of Halletsville; one sister, Ruby Pitts of Durant, Okla.; two grandchildren and two great-greandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Caring Heart Care Home, 401 Monroe, Borger, Tx. 79007 of to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family will be staying at 308 Santa Fe in Borger.
