BORGER - William "W.G." Glen Ashford, 86, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fountain of the Fountains at Brown Funeral Directors with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Ashford had lived in Borger for 54 years. He retired as an operator from Phillips Petroleum Co.

Survivors include three sons, Windell Ashford of Borger, Billy Ashford of Texas and Joe Ashford of Ada, Okla.; two brothers, Steve Ashford of Durant, Okla., and Clifton Ashford of Idabel, Okla.; a sister, Marie Beherns of Mannsville, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Elsie LaVada Ashford, 74, Borger, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Funeral services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Powderly, she had been a Borger resident since 1948. She was homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.

She married W.G. Ashford Nov. 13, 1992 in Hugo, Okla.

Survivors include her husband of the home; three sons, Windell Ashford of Borger; Billy Ashford of Austin; and Joe Ashford of Ada, Okla.; a daughter, Dian McKamie of Borger; two sisters, Cordelia Tilson and Florence Daughty, both of Powderly; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 914 Harrington.
