FRITCH - Betty Sue Green Clemmons, 74, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fritch First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Clemmons was born March 26, 1933, in Childress, and was a resident of Fritch for 27 years. She married Bill Clemmons on Nov. 16, 1950, in Pampa, and they were married for 56 years.

She was a 1950 graduate of Pampa High School and was a graduate of West Texas State University. She taught at Morse, Spring Creek and Pringle-Morse ISDs as a third- and fourth-grade teacher. Betty had an impact on many of her students over the course of her career. She was an avid golfer with two holes-in-one and was a member of the Phillips Ladies Golf Association and Elkettes. The love of the Lord was her source of faith.

Special thanks to all our family members and friends who supported us during her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Myrtle Lay Green; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband Bill; three daughters, Terry Lynn Garland and husband Terry of Amarillo, Mary Ann Hughes Davis of Dallas and Stacy Watson of Wichita Falls; a sister, Ila Pettit; four brothers, Bobby, R.D., Burle, and Roy Green; four grandsons; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Art Stevens, Tom Eppinette, George Snyder, Ralph Pumphrey, Phillip Gunn, Marshall Lee Ford and Kenneth Lanham.

Honorary Bearers include Claude Kuroki, Richard Clark, Jimmy Garrison, E.L. Gunn, Chief Fagen, W.S. MacAnally, Lonnie Clemmons, Noal Henry, Jimmy Henry and Jack Hensen.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Family Life Center Fund, First Southern Baptist Church, P.O. Box 358, Fritch, TX 79036.
