Hazel Cozart Phillips, 91, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Jim Smith, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Phillips was fondly known to her family and friends as a faithful wife, loving mother, school teacher, published poet, postmaster, community servant and devoted Christian. As if that weren't enough, everyone enjoyed her multiple culinary delights.

Born July 22, 1911, in Starkville, Colo., Hazel went to be with the Lord on Jan. 21 after a fall at 91 years of life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Cyrus Herman Cozart Sr.; her second husband, Edward Johnson Phillips; and a son, Curtis Wayne Cozart.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Hamlin of Seattle and Sharon Nathans of Houston; two sons, Hugh Cozart of Alamosa, Colo., and Cy Cozart Jr. of Dallas; three daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials St. Stephen United Methodist Church Missions Fund, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or Campus Crusade for Christ International, Account No. 0442036, P.O. Box 628222, Orlando, FL 32862-8222; or East West Ministries, Account No. 90068, P.O. Box 701560, Dallas, TX 75370-1560.

The body will be available for viewing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 5400 S. Bell St.
