Obituary for William
A 58-year-old Electric City man became Hutchinson County's fifth auto fatality victim today when he died at 2:10 a.m. at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

William C. Ratliff, 105 Cherokee, died of injuries received in a two-vehicle crash May 23, two miles north of Borger on Texas Highway 136 at Electric City.

The accident injured two Guymon, Okla. men; Ronald C. Ballard, 24, and John M. Vandiver, also 24.

Ratliff was an employee of the Phillips Petroleum Company and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services are pending at Minton Mortuary.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; six sons, P.E. of Borger; C.H. of Fritch; Wayne, of Stinnett; Ray of Laghop, Mo.; Bill Jr. of Kansas City, Mo.; Eldon, home; one daughter, Clara Ratliff, home; 13 grandchildren.

Obituary for Audrey
BORGER - Audrey Ratliff Darnell, 91, died Monday, June 8, 2009.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Darnell was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Cooke County. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Charles M. Darnell; six sons, Perry Edwin Ratliff and Gerald Wayne Ratliff, both of Borger, Cas Henry Ratliff of Fritch, Clifton Ray Ratliff of Turney, Mo., William Clayton Ratliff, Jr. of Blue Springs, Mo., and Eldon Leroy Ratliff of Amarillo; a stepson, Gayland Darnell of Borger; a daughter, Clara Alice Willis of McLean; a brother, Paul Henry Yarbrough of Borger; 42 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Borger.
