Watson, Mildred Cottle Millie (aka Baby) was born August 2, 1915, Ellis County, Texas near Alma. Died January 30, 2009 in Dallas. Daughter of Willie G. Cottle and Mildred Sims Cottle. Survived by son Anthony "Tony" Watson (Jane); grandchildren Reed Watson (Kari), Peter Watson (Meg), Anne Blauser (Brent) and Nancy Watson; great grandson Austin R. Watson; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, husband, Austin B. Watson; brother, Frank Cottle; sisters Jewell Corey and Velma Brainard. Moved to Dallas as an infant when her father began his career as a Dallas Firefighter. Graduated from Sunset High School in 1933. Married Austin B. Watson January 14, 1934. Worked for A. Harris Store, Southwestern Life Insurance and Dallas Medical Surgical Clinic before raising her son. Founded with Austin, and in-laws Houston and "Mickey" Watson Electric Supply Company in May 1947. Attended Highland Park Presbyterian since 1939, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School many years, as well as being active in Presbyterian Women and president of the Pattee Class. Supported Austin's Rotary activities, serving as "first lady" of the Rotary District in 1968-69, president of the "Rotary Anns" group of Fair Park Rotary, and later active for many years in Women of Rotary. She was a charter member of the Lovell Baker Book Club. A memorial service will be held in the Sanctuary of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University, on Friday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made either to the Music Department at Highland Park Presbyterian Church or to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

WATSON, AUSTIN BALL, born June 20, 1914, Austin, Texas; died October 26, 2003, Dallas, Texas. Youngest child of Rev. John Lee Watson and Martha Ann Havard Watson. Survived by wife, Mildred Cottle Watson; son, Anthony "Tony" Watson; daughter-in-law Jane Reed Watson; grandchildren A. Reed Watson and wife Kari, Peter J. Watson, Anne M. Watson and Nancy J. Watson; sister, Nobie McGill. Predeceased by parents, brother Houston B. Watson, and 8 half-siblings. Lived in McAlester and Sallisaw, Oklahoma before moving to Dallas 1921, lived here the remainder of his life. Attended Forest Avenue High, and finished at Dallas High, later known as Crozier Tech. Took some technical classes at SMU later. Married Mildred Cottle January 14, 1934. Austin began working at Westinghouse Electric Supply part time 1929, to full time while in high school. With Houston, left Westinghouse 1947, founded Watson Electric Supply Company, which grew to have as many as 280 employees, all based in Texas. Watson Electric was sold 1997 and "Mr. Austin" retired. Life member of his trade association, the National Association of Electrical Distributors, had been active in many clubs and associations relating to the electrical industry. He was active in the Dallas Jaycees during the 40s, served as President in the year 1949-50. While president, he was judged the best Jaycee club in the USA by the national group. He also had a lyric tenor voice, and had sung at many churches around the city, as well as being a member of the Highlander Quartet for 50 years. He sang in another quartet featured for several years in the 40s on the Early Birds Program on WFAA radio. Long time member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, he had been an elder emeritus for about 18 years as a recognition of his work in the church; Fair Park Rotary Club, which he had served as President and later served Rotary International as District Governor and International Institute Instructor, and had made many Paul Harris Fellows and edited Rotanews for 50 years; and Vickery Masonic Lodge, which he had served as Master and had been honored by local Scottish Rite Bodies with the 33. He served also on the Board of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and previously served on the Board of Education, Masonic Home in Fort Worth.
