A young Borger housewife, Mrs. Abbe Rodgers Hamilton, 19, of 2233 Huber Ave. was found dead in her home about 9:45 a.m.
A 1975 graduate of Borger High School, she married William David Hamilton on May 21, 1976. She had attended Frank Phillips College.
Mrs. Hamilton had been employed by the Borger News-Herald circulation department during her high school and college years.
During her senior year in high school, she was named the Distributive Education Club sweetheart. She was also a member of the Future Teachers of America and was on the varsity tennis team. She was also involved in the Explorers Scouting organization.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rex Mauldin, pastor of the San Jacinto Methodist Church in Amarillo, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Lyman Wood, pastor of the local church.
Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton Mortuary.
Survivors other than the widower include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dell Rodgers of 103 Galahad; a brother, Jody of the home; her grandparents, Mrs. Minilee Sowell of Borger and Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Rodgers of Stinnett; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Campbell of Borger.
