**Obituary
Mary Louise "Mimi" Day Pillans, 83, of Lubbock and Cross Plains, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Cross Plains, Tx with Pastor Ronnie White officiating; interment will follow in the Atwell Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains.

Mary Louise Day was born on Aug. 22, 1931, to John Coleman and Pearl Cantrell Day in Yoakum, Texas.

She moved to San Antonio, Texas, upon entering 9th grade. She went to Brackenridge High School where she was a member of the Purple Jackets and graduated in 1948 at the age of 16.

She worked from a very young age. One of her first jobs was at McCory's known as a five and dime.

She met and later married John Coleman Pillans on Aug. 19, 1950, in Baird, Texas. Daddy always said he found a million dollar baby in a five and ten cent store. They were blessed with two children, Pamela Diane, born on Feb. 11, 1952, and Ronald Duane born on June 5, 1954. They were married for 61+ years until his death on Oct. 12, 2011.

During their marriage they worked in many businesses, side-by-side. Theirs was a true love story and now they are reunited in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ruby Pearl; two brothers, John Edward and Charles Ray; and her beloved son, Ronald Duane.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela and husband, Danny Furlow of Lubbock, Texas; a sister, Jimmie Long; brother, Glenn Day of San Antonio; brother, Bobbie Day of Lorena, Texas; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 130, Cross Plains, Texas 76443; or to a charity of your choice.
