Obituary for Lawson
WICHITA FALLS - Lawson [sic] O. Mathis, 85, a former long time resident of Borger who had resided in Wichita Falls for the past three years died in Wichita Falls Hospital Saturday morning.

Mathis, who had resided at 801 N. Harvey, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Borger.

Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Paul Burleson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

He is survived by a son, C.R. of El Monte, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Beer of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Eileen Peters of Abilene [sic] and Mrs. Peggy Cartlidge of Kirkland; a sister, Mrs. Odell Fairless of Trenton, Tenn.; two brothers, Herman of Trazvant, Tenn. and Robert of Humboldt, Tenn.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Mary
Funeral services for Mary Louise Mathis, 74, 801 N. Harvey, will be held at Ed Brown's Chapel of the Fountains at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Joe Dee Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mathis was dead on arrival Sunday at North Plains Hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home. She was a native of Caruthersville, Mo., and had lived in Borger since 1943. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, L.O.; a son, Charles of El Monte, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Eileen Peters of Abilene, Mrs. E.H. Beer of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Peggy McDonald of Childress and Mrs. Juanita King of Snider; brothers, W.B. Thompson of Hayti, Mo., and Albert Thompson of Ft. Worth, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
