BORGER - Bertha Evelyn Mercer, 84, died Thursday, April 1, 1999.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Beatitudes in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mercer was born in Konawa, Okla., and was a Borger resident for 54 years. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and active in Senior Citizen activities.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Fowler in 1951, and Elmer Mercer in 1983.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Fowler of Borger; two sisters, Dorothy Murphey of Independence, Miss., and Belle Jackson of Konawa; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
