(Published in Borger News Herald, Tuesday, February 17, 1987)
James T. "Tommy" Miller, 65, 105 Dolomita, died at 5:19 p.m. Sunday at Golden Plains Community Hospital.
A retired industrial electrician, he was a native of Bradshaw, Texas, and a Borger resident for 38 years.
Mr. Miller was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the First Baptist Church, charter member of the Phillips Riding Club and the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Posse.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Evans, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Casket bearers will be L.C. Badgett, Bill Billingsley, Dee Coleman, Clarence McDaniel, Leroy Boyer, Leroy Tucker.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Mae of the home; two daughters, Gloria Sparks of Borger and Gwen Holmes of Amarillo; two sisters, Penola Sawyer of Leakey, Texas; Maurine McReavy of Big Lake, Texas; a brother, A.S. Miller of Jacksborough, Texas, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Ragsdale in December, 1985.

BORGER - Etta Mae Miller, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 11, in Amarillo.
Services were at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gregg Simmons, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment was in the Garden of Good Shepherd at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Miller was born in Silverton and was a longtime resident of Borger.
She was a retired Master Barber.
She was past president of HARC Association and charter member of the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Posse Auxiliary.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Miller, in 1987, and by three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria and Gwen ; one brother, Bunk Mills of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials be made to BSA Hospice, Box 950, Amarillo TX 79106-0001.
The family will be staying at Vinson Development, 109 Elm in Fritch.
