James Thomas Mongold, 82 died July 16, 2006, in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with Rev. Bill Sizemore, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Mongold was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Lee Creek, Ark., and was a resident of Borger. He was a pipe fitter foreman and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife Marie Mongold; two sons, James Thomas Mongold Jr. of Liberal, Kan and Leland Dean Mongold of Omaha, Neb.; three stepsons, Doug Collier of Fritch, Steve Collier of Borger, and Ross Collier of Pampa; one stepdaughter Elaine Cox of Tyler; five grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Casket bearers will be Shawn Mongold, Justin Wallace, Ethan Collier, Matt Collier, and Drew Collier.

Marie Collier Mongold

Marie Collier Mongold, 87, of Borger, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 13, 2017, in Amarillo, Texas. Services are under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Marie was born August 1, 1929 to Richard Clyde Porter and Theresa Rosetta Rushing on a farm eight miles south of Crowell, Texas. She lived most all of her life in Borger, Texas. She worked at Holt Food Store for many years and later retired from the Borger Independent School District. She loved to work crossword puzzles and enter the weekly newspaper football contests. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. An all around wonderful, daughter, sister, mother, friend and lover of the Lord.

Marie married Barty James Collier on September 14, 1946 and later married James Thomas Mongold on August 25, 1967.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brothers Wesley Porter, Ernest Porter, Bill Porter and Archie Porter; sisters Mae Porter, Allene Porter, and Pearl Knotts.

Survivors include sisters-in-law, Carol Porter, of Texline, Texas, and Marie Porter, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Elaine Cox and husband Byron of Tyler, Texas; sons Doug Collier of Fritch, Texas, Steve Collier and wife, Linda, of Fritch, Texas, Russell Collier and wife, Belinda, of Pampa, Texas; stepsons James Mongold, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Liberal, Kansas, and Leland Mongold and special friend, Connie, of Omaha, Nebraska. Fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and a large extended family.

All grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at BSA Hospital and the staff at BSA Hospice of the Southwest. Please direct any memorial consideration to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.

Funeral services will be at Bunavista Baptist Church, 2 Amaryllis St., Wednesday, May 17, at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 8745 Highway 136, Borger, Texas.
