James H. Patterson, 83, of Borger died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Pampa.

James was born December 29, 1928 to James Thomas and Dollie Lee (McQuiston) Patterson in Wheeler County, Texas.

He spent his lifetime in the area where he played football and graduated from Borger High School in 1947.

James married his wife Elza Marie Moffitt of Phillips on June 25, 1947. They were married for 65 years.

James received his Welding Degree from Amarillo College. He retired from Agrium in 1994 as a welder. James was a member of the Bunavista Baptist Church.

James was survived by his wife, Marie; a son Steve Patterson and wife Tracie of Amarillo; a daughter Peggy Petton and husband David of Burleson, TX; three brothers, Virgil Patterson of Arlington, TX; Johnny Frances of Oak Hill, California; and Bobby Patterson of Licking, MO; a sister Borothy Bruner of Kennewick, WA; seven grandchildren, Vince Patterson, Michelle Patterson, Brittany Garritson, Laura Petton, Doug Petton, Dalanie Patterson, and Rylie Patterson; Three Great Grandchildren Jordan Munoz, Anabelle Cling, Creed Garritson; one Great-Great Grandchild, Kaydon Munoz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tommy Patterson; a sister, Sherry King; a son, Allen Patterson in 2002; and two grandsons, Tommy and Braden Patterson.

Elza Marie Patterson
October 18, 1929 - March 1, 2014

Elza Marie Patterson, 84 of Borger died Saturday, March 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Connie Moore and Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation Tuesday March 4, 2014 at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Marie was born October 8, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Moffitt in Achille, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Borger in 1933 and a year later moved to Phillips, TX where she graduated from Phillips High School in 1947. While in high school Marie was a member of the chorus, was a accomplished pianist, served as guest soloist for many clubs and was a member of the school band. It was during her high school days she met her high school sweetheart, James Patterson, who attended and graduated from nearby Borger High School. They were married on June 25,1947. She enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a beautician for thirty two years having just retired in 2013.

Marie was a member of the Bunavista Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship and activities. She loved her family tremendously and will be missed greatly.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband James in 2012; a son Allen Patterson 2002; two grandsons Tom Patterson in 2012 and Braden Patterson in 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Petton and husband David of Burleson, TX. Son Steve Patterson and wife Tracie of Amarillo, TX. Sister Wanda Beola Scott of Borger, TX. Seven grandchildren Vince Patterson, Michelle Patterson, Brittany Patterson, Laura Petton, Doug Petton, Delanie Patterson and Rylie Patterson. Five great grandchildren Mercedes Patterson, Darian Patterson Jordan Munoz, Anabelle Cline, Creed Garritson and soon to be great granddaughter Emma Petton. One Great great grandchild Kaydan Munoz Her loving niece Linda and husband Larry Franklin.
