James Thomas Patterson, 81, 303 Garrett, died Friday in High Plains Baptist Hospital.

Retired from construction, he was a native of Red River County, Texas and a Borger resident since 1943.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie, in 1981.

He is survived by five sons, Tommy Patterson, James Patterson, both of Borger; Virgil Patterson of Arlington, Johnny F. Patterson of Norco, Calif., Bobby Patterson of Pierce City, Calif.; two daughters, Dorothy Bruner of Olympia, Wash., and Sherry King of Blair, Okla.; 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor, Bible Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Services for Mrs. Dollie Patterson, 116 W. Wilson, were held today at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Taylor, pastor, officiated.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

A native of Duke, Okla., Mrs. Patterson had been a resident of Borger for 38 years.

She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She married J.T. Patterson Nov. 6, 1917, in Duke, Okla.

Survivors include her husband; five sons Tommy and James of Borger, Virgil of Arlington, Johnny F. of Norco, Calif., and Bobby of Wheeler; two daughters, Dorothy Bruner of Olympic, Wash., and Sherry King; four brothers, W.S. McCuistion of Borger, Travis McCuistion of Canyon, Doyal McCuistion of Amarillo, and Stanley McCuistion of Decatur; four sisters Mrs. Stella Gresham of Hereford, Mrs. Fern Hatfield of Clute, Mrs. Beatrice Crow of Houston, Mrs. Viola Drexler of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J.W. Vallaister, Marcus Smith, J.W. Hanes, Kenneth White, George Railsback and Buddy Ballard.
