*Obituary

Levy, Ruth Okon Ruth (Ruthie) Levy was born on September 25, 1924 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away peacefully with loved ones with her on May 17, 2010. Ruth was a devoted, loving wife to her husband Reuben for nearly 66 years before his death in 2006. She was a proud, loving mother to two sons and grandmother to four grandchildren. She had a wide circle of friends and extended family and enjoyed volunteer work. Over the last several years, she particularly enjoyed taking friends in assisted living or otherwise housebound out for a day of fun to include lunch and a little shopping. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Kenneth J. and Karen Levy of Buffalo, New York; son and daughter-in-law, Randall D. and Irene Levy of Dallas, Texas; grandson Ryan S. Levy and wife, Shannon and Scott D. Levy and wife, Melissa both of Chicago, Illinois; and granddaughters, Rebecca E. Levy and Ashley K. Levy of Dallas, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Rabbi Oren Hayon, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that, as Ruthie would have wanted, her memory be honored by contributions of personal choice to a charity dedicated to helping others.
