Levy, Dorothy Novich Dorothy Novich Levy was born in Dallas on April 25, 1919 to Jack and Fannie Novich. She passed away on September 5, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years Milton Levy and her son, Ben Michael Levy. She is survived by her son Steve Levy and his wife Joanne, as well as grandchildren Karen Levy Keon, her husband Dylan and daughters Julia and Anna; Doug Levy, his wife Alyce and daughters Jordan and Taylor; Brian Levy and his twin sons Miles and Elliot; Jennifer Simmons, her husband Brandon Rowe and her son Zachary. She was a graduate of Forest High and Southern Methodist University. She was proud of her volunteer work with the Red Cross, Hope Cottage, National Council of Jewish Women, PTA at Bradfield Elementary and Highland Park High School. She was a member of the Dallas County Dental Wives, United Fund and the Turtle Creek Assn. She was active with the Dallas Symphony, and the SMU Endowment Fund. While living in Palo Alto, California with her husband during World War II, she was in charge of the history library at Stanford University. She was always interested in gaining more knowledge. She read, traveled extensively, and audited classes at SMU with friends for many decades. She took pride in wearing blue jeans and sharing the learning experience with university students. She had many lifelong friends who appreciated her flair for life. She will be missed by all. She was very appreciative of the care given to her in the last few years by the caregivers at Manchester Place, especially Martha, Angela, Julia and Keysha, as well as longtime caregivers Pam and Erin. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Emanu-El, Lefkowitz Chapel, at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 9. Pallbearers will be: Alvin Golman, Dylan Keon, Karen Levy Keon, Brian Levy, Doug Levy, Max Levy, Nancy Marcus, Dan Olson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Watson Stone, Nicole Lidji and Barbara Goff. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Temple Emanu-El, Rabbi's Good Works Fund.
