FRITCH - Services for former premiere rodeo performer Florence B. "Grandma" Reynolds, 83, of Vivian's Nursing Home in Amarillo will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Don Stone, minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Reynolds died at 2 a.m. Thursday in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, she had lived in the area for 54 years.

When Mrs. Reynolds was 18, she moved to Sapulpa, Okla., to cook for her father who was working in the new oilfields. After she married John Reynolds, the couple got a job on Col. Zack Miller's famous 101 Ranch so that they could learn more about training horses for ranch shows. While they were there, her husband performed riding stunts as a stand-in for such early-day silent film stars as William S. Hart and Dustin Farnum.

When the Reynolds family moved to Texas, Mrs. Reynolds, by then known as "Grandma" Reynolds, was joined by her son and two daughters in area rodeo performances.

In 1958, Mrs. Reynolds and her family were the subject of a book entitled, "The Rawhide Tree," written by Cleo Tom Terry of Borger and Osie Wilson of Wheeler.

Mrs. Reynolds made a $3,000 contribution to the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Hereford in 1977.

She was a member of the Fritch Church of Christ and a former member of the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Posse Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Loyd of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Mrs. Jackie Campbell of Phillips and Mrs. Arona Raymond of Electric City; one sister, Mrs. Helen Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the daughter's home in Phillips.

Pallbearers will be Bill Mixon, Dave Beams, Bob Snow, Leonard Iker, Quincy Womack and Glen Compton.
