Rotan- Pat McClure, 68, died Friday at a Kerrville, hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Roby Cemetery
Pat was born January 23, 1920 in Roby. He entered the Army Air Force in Dallas on November 22, 1941. Pat became a corporal in the 83rd Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group. He became an expert as a Carbine Sharpshooter and an Airplane Armorer. Pat fought in the air offensive in Normanday, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, The Distinguished Unit Badge, and the American Defense Service Medal. Pat separated from the US Service on September 27, 1947. He served almost six years.
