WEATHERFORD - Sarah Margaret Stevens, 79, died Friday, March 5, 2004.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Borger. Local arrangements are by White's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stevens was born March 20, 1924, to Edward Leo Utsinger and Zoe Nora Steed in Breckenridge. At the age of 14, Sarah moved with her family to Borger. She was a graduate of Borger High School. She married Edward Dow Stevens in Clovis, N.M., on April 26, 1941. She was an avid dog lover and had several prize show dogs. Sarah enjoyed hooking rugs, shopping and was a super sleuth with her friend Lucy. She was a member of the Johnson Park Church of Christ in Borger.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her lifelong friend, Stephen Winters, Sr.; and her dogs, Choc and Lacy

Survivors include two sons, James "Jim" Dow Stevens and wife, Sandi, of Willow Park and Edward "Ed" Lee Stevens and wife, Francis, of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Jared, Jamie and Justin; a great-grandchild, Madelyn Sarah; a sister, Dortha Elizabeth Mayo of Bartlesville, Okla.; two cousins, Neal Utsinger and Terry Utsinger; and countless other family members and friends who were all touched by her kindness.
