Dorthy Boydstun Waythe 89 of Quitman Texas went to heaven July 16, 2014. She lived in Quitman for 13 years after moving to Lubbock, and before that Muleshoe.
She was born on July 14, 1925 in Peacock Texas to John and Carrie Boydstun. She was the youngest of 11 children and a little spoiled, as she always stated. Dorthy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Quitman. She worked as a meat wrapper, and later a sitter for the elderly.
She is survived by one son; Buzz Garland and wife Geneva of Aubrey Texas, a daughter; Vicky Selman and husband Randy of Yantis Texas, and a brother Lealand Boydstun of Flores Alabama. Dorthy also leaves behind Four grandchildren; Ricky Selman, Kristopher Henexson, Sheila Silver, and Kristina Slack, five great grandchildren; Ashley and Kyndle Henexson, Penelope Henexson, Cade and Cole Silver.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 19, 2014 in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Donations may be sent to the "Building Fund" of the First United Methodist Church at 406 East Lane Street Quitman Texas 75783.
