Graveside services for Melvin Carroll of Brownfield were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16, 2009
Melvin passed away January 12, 2009 after a long illness. Melvin was born Oct. 2, 1931 to L.P. and Eva Carroll in a small two room home out on the farm. He graduated from Meadow High School in 1950. Melvin was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a life-long farmer in and around the Brownfield and Meadow area.
Melvin married Faye Allen on Jan. 31, 1959 in Meadow. Together they raised two children.
Melvin is survived by his wife Faye; a daughter, Jeanette Redwine and her husband Jackie of San Angelo; a son, Jerry Carroll and his wife Leslie of Brownfield; a sister, Ollie Ellen Moore of West Plains, Mo.; his grandchildren, Patrick Carroll of Post, Stacie Redwine of San Angelo and Sharlon Walton of Brownfield; great grandkids, Kevin, Christian, Ethan, Seth, Jayden, Cheyanne and Willie Daniel. Melvin so enjoyed all of his grand and great-grandkids. He took great pleasure in talking, playing and teasing with all of them.
