Doris Mae Birch
April 26, 1922 - September 5, 2017

Doris Birch, 95,died on September 5, 2017. She entered this world on April 26, 1922 in Rush Springs, OK, born to Tom and Della Whatley. At twelve years old she accepted Christ as her Savior at a revival in Oklahoma. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Phillips for 40 plus years and has been a member of the First Baptist Church, Borger where her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Charlie Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Doris has lived in Borger and Phillips since the early 1940s. She married Onial D. "O.D." Birch February 13, 1940 in Elmore City, OK. She was a great and caring mother who never raised her voice. She had a dry sense of humor and was frank and honest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband O. D., husband Paul McKinney, brothers Otis Whatley, Arlie Whatley, Dee Whatley and Jim Whatley and her sister Nettie Dowdy.

She is survived by her son Tommy Birch and his wife Linda of Borger; daughter Karen Demings and her husband Marvin of Wylie, TX; daughter Deanna Miller of Canyon. her sisters Sue Low of Kerrville, TX and Frances McAlister of Plano; nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Casey Birch, John Waits, Luke Wells, Jesse Demings, Philip Demings and Mark Waits. Honorary bearers will be Scott Blackley, Scott Wells, Kyle Middleton, Gary Clark and Thom Scott.
