Funeral services for James J. Blanton, 55, of 700 O'Daniel Street, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of the Minton Funeral Home.

Blanton died Friday afternoon in North Plains Hospital. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had been a resident of Borger for the past 10 years.

Services for Mrs. Alice Hazel Blanton, 82, of Schertz, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Blanton was a native of Gillham, Ark., and lived in Borger until 1965 when she moved to Schertz. She was a housewife and member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Blanton in 1959.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Inez Peeler of Seadrift, Wanda Harvey of Fritch, Pauline Lisney of Amarillo, Dorothy Donoho of Kingsville; three sons Joel Lee Blanton of Loomis, Calif., James Blanton of Schertz, and Carl Blanton of San Antonio; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Turner of Glenwood, Ark.; and Mrs. Annis France of Sweethome, Org.; one brother, J.A. Ravan of Pittsburg; 32 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James W. Marrs, Ray Mitchell, Glenn Mitchell, James Peeler, Teddy Peeler, John Donoho, James Blanton and Richard McCandless.
