BROWNFIELD, TX (KCBD) - Memorial services will be held Thursday for a Brownfield High School graduate killed in Arkansas on Sunday. Authorities say Colton Lee Burran, 23 died in an all-terrain vehicle accident in central Arkansas on the border of Saline and Perry Counties.

Burran had been working as a staffer for U.S. Sen. John Boozman of Arkansas. He'd been with Boozman since January and had previously worked on his election campaign.

In a statement, Boozman described Burran as a man who tackled tasks with enthusiasm and had a good sense of humor. The senator says his thoughts and prayers are with Burran's family.

Boozman's office says memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Brownfield.

According to Burran's obituary, published on the Brownfield Funeral Home's website, he was born August 24, 1987 to Ronny and Gale Burran in Lubbock. He graduated from Brownfield High School in 2006.

The family suggests donations to the Colton Lee Burran Memorial Scholarship Fund, at Lone Star State Bank, 301 W. Main Street, Brownfield, TX. or Brownfield First Baptist Church Youth Ministries.
