Funeral services for Sammie Rue Burran will be held 2pm Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Brownfield First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Matt Baird officiating.

Sammie was born October 13, 1925 to Floyd Hiram Hughes and Oma Lee Ryder in Wills Point. She married Everett Lee Burran on May 1, 1944 in Grand Saline. She graduated from Wills Point High School. They moved to Brownfield in 1953. She was a member of Brownfield First Baptist Church. She was very involved in the ladies Sunday school class and the funeral luncheon committee. Sammie loved her family, friends, and church. She was loved so much by her nieces and nephews. Sammie was truly a servant.

Sammie is preceded in death by her husband, Everett, two grandsons, Colton Lee Burran and Casey Lane Burran, her parents Floyd Hiram and Oma Lee Hughes and a brother, Floyd Hughes, Jr.

Sammie is survived by her daughter, Judy Martin and husband, Jimmy, of Lubbock; son, Ronny Burran and wife, Gale, of Brownfield; 3 grandchildren, Jeff Martin of Allen, Jerrod Martin and wife, Sheila, of Lubbock, Cara Simmons of Canyon; and 4 great grandchildren, Addyson Gallardo, Brooklyn Simmons, Ella Martin, and Lily Simmons.

The family request donations to the Brownfield First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
