Funeral services for John Willis Cummings, 65, Borger, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Elvis Peck, pastor of Eternal Light Pentecostal Church, assisted by Mr. Archie Cummings, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Cummings died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 1991 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A native of Delta County, Texas, he was a longtime area resident. He was a carpenter. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch, and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Elzora Hays Cummings of the home; a son, John W. Cummings, III of Pasadena; three step-sons, E.J. Hays of Hope, Mich.; Tom Hays of El Reno, Okla.; and Jack Hays of Choctaw, Okla.; one daughter, Linda Hill of Salt Lake, Utah; a step-daughter, Lana Wilkinson of Fritch; a sister, Nettie Hooten of Valley Mills; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
