BORGER NEWS-HERALD - May 15, 1973
Funeral services for Raymond "Jess" Cunningham, 77, of 723 Coble, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Ed Brown & Sons Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Amos R. Meador, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.
Mr. Cunningham was owner of the now extinct Cunningham Cab Co. which closed doors on Sept. 30, 1972, after 46 years of business in Borger.
He came to Borger in 1925 during the oil boom.
Survivors include his wife, Opal (Jimmie); one brother, Victor of Borger; one niece and four nephews.
Honorary bearers will be Louis Zaversnik, Alvin Piland, R.L. Harris, Lee Arendall, Larry Poston, Douglas Tolbert, Claudie West, Gerald Reeves, J.L. Lions, J.W. Orr.

Mrs. Opal M. (Jimmie) Cunningham, 72, of 723 Coble died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday at North Plains Hospital.
Services are pending with Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Cunningham was a former owner of Cunningham Cab Co. A native of Beaver County, Okla., she had been a resident of Borger since 1925. She was a member of First Church of Nazarene.
Her husband Jess died in May, 1973.
She is survived by two brothers, of Okla., also a niece of San Diego, Calif.
