Funeral services for James Roy Dawson, 59, of 708 N. Cedar, are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Ed Brown Chapel of the Fountains.

Officiating will be the Rev. Lee Hillon, pastor of Central Baptist Church. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ed Brown Funeral Director.

Dawson was born in Mississippi and came to Borger in 1945, as a carpenter. Dawson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday in North Plains Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Estelle; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Higgins of Guymon, Okla.; two sons, William and James E., both of Borger; his mother, Mrs. Nora Dawson, Baldwin, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services for Estell Dawson, 83, Borger, were at 3 p.m. today at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Bud Kidwell, pastor, Central Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Dawson died Wednesday, April 24, 1991 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A native of LaFayette, Miss., she had been a Borger resident for 50 years. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Dawson in 1963.

Survivors include two sons, William Dawson and James Dawson, both of Borger; one daughter, Mary Higgins of Dallas; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Ronny Dawson, Randy Dawson, Ricky Dawson, and Jamie Dawson.
