A 63-year-old Phillips man was killed in a car and a semi-trailer truck collision at 1:15 p.m. Saturday half a mile east of Amarillo city limits at intersection of St. Francis Ave. and Folsom Rd.
Will David Martin, 12 Hiatt, Phillips, was traveling east on St. Francis Ave. when his vehicle was in collision with a semi-trailer truck (without a trailer), driven by James Grisby, 56, of Euless, Tex.
Officers said Grisby was northbound on St. Francis when his vehicle and Martin's car collided near the right front. Martin's car went into a nearby field and overturned. His body was pinned inside the vehicle for nearly an hour.
Services for Martin are pending with Simpson's Funeral Home.
A longtime area resident, he was retired employee of Phillips Petroleum Co.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. W.W. Brooks, 510 Crockett; and one brother, Ben Martin, El Monte, Calif.
