Alyn Rogers, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 22, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Keeler Baptist Church with the Rev. John Denton officiating. Interment will be held in Vesperland Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Rogers was born in Holdenville, Okla. He had been a Borger resident since 1945. He graduated from Borger High in 1949, and attended Texas Tech. He married Ebbie Mahan in Borger on Oct. 4, 1952.

He served in the Korean conflict and was a member of Keeler Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Borger Chamber of Commerce and was an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce. He retired as city manager of Borger of Jan. 31, 1996. Prior to serving as city manager, he served as director of Planning & Zoning for Borger, and also was assistant city manager. He was active in the Texas Municipal League Region #2, and was also active in the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission. He was a member of the Panhandle City Managers Association and also the Texas City Managers Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl C. Rogers, in 1988.

Survivors include his wife, Ebbie Rogers, of the home; one son Garry Alyn Rogers of Richardson, Texas; one daughter, Rita Gayle Petr of Borger; his mother Rosa Lee Rogers of Borger; three sisters, Sheryn Turner of Amarillo, Kerma Watson of Houston and Teresa Griffin of Borger; and two grandchildren, Bradley Hill of Borger and Shelly Petr of Borger.

Casket bearers will be John Reynolds, Dennis Hood, Bob Hines, Ed Koetting, Jerry Collins, Bert Maxwell, Mack Shirley and Fred Englund.
