*Obituary
Ethel Mae Herd, 83, died Tueday [sic].
Services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 26 in First Baptist church, Rev. Jerry Parker, pastor, and Rev. M.B. Smith of Pampa, officiated. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Mrs. Herd was born in Clarksville. She was a longtime resident of Wheeler. She married Emit H. Herd in 1921 in Denton County. He proceded [sic] in death.
Pallbearers were Bill Clay, James Gaines, Richard Gaines, Maxey Herd, Dorsie Hutchinson, Olen Maxwell.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Hampton and Maurine Brotherton, both of Wheeler; a sister, Louise Gaines of Wheeler; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
