COLORADO CITY ~ Dallas Austin, 71, died Wednesday in Simmons Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Franklin-Britton Chapel with the Reverend Amos Taylor, Midland minister officiating. Burial will be in the Mitchell County Cemetery in Colorado City.
Mr. Austin was born August 15, 1900 in Rusk County and moved to Mitchell County in 1919. He married Minerva Kirkland December 24, 1941 in Mitchell County.
He was a retired Shell Oil Company employee, retiring in 1961 after 15 years of service.
Mr. Austin was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Jessie Austin and Riley Austin, Jr. both of Colorado City; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Jones of Midland, Mrs. Mary Jamison and Mrs Carrie Burton both of Colorado City.
