Jesse Austin, 89, of Colorado City, died May 21 in his home.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Mount olive Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Bracy, pastor of Saint James Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Mitchell County Cemetery under direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Austin, a veteran of World War II was born January 5,1894 in Cherokee County and married Gladys Wright in Troupe, Texas on December 31,1917.
He had lived in Colorado City since 1919 and was preceeded in death by his wife in 1963
He was a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church and is survived by one sister, Mary Jamison of Colorado City.
