Faye Collins
February 12, 1925 - June 6, 2012

Memorial services for Faye Collins, 87, of Lamesa, will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian church with Matthew Thompson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral home. Faye passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Lamesa.

Faye was born on February 12, 1925, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to James and Mildred Littlefield. She married Richard Collins on August 9, 1946 in Lamesa. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. Faye was a devoted mother. She was involved in all her children's activities. Faye was a very giving and caring person. She loved to help people and she touched many lives while doing so. Faye was very active in the First Presbyterian church. She was a church elder and a Clerk of Session. She also devoted her time to the Cursillo community as a participant and as a sponsor. Faye attended every Cursillo event held for the last 15 years. She was one of the original cast members of the Lamesa Community Players. In addition to acting, she was a director and was on the board of directors. Faye enjoyed knitting and needle point. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Faye also devoted her time to the Lamesa Food Bank.

Faye is survived by her sons; Ed Collins of Hillsborough, NC and David Collins and wife Debbie of Ft. Collins, Co, her four grandchildren; Kendrick Collins, Clay Collins, Dara Buchele-Collins and Micah Buchele-Collins, Steve and Terrye Wilkes, who were like a son and daughter to Faye and their children, Betsy Higgins and Lindsey Tidwell.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
