HEREFORD - Jose D. Cervantez, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.
Prayer vigil was said at 7 p.m. Monday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in La Iglesia de San Jose with the Rev. David Contreras officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mr. Cervantez was born May 31, 1917, in Uvalde to Manuel and Policarpia DeLaPaz Cervantez. He was a truck driver for many years, drove a school bus for several years and managed The Wishing Well Dance Hall.
Survivors include five sons, Manuel, Reinaldo, Antonio and Gilbert Cervantez, all of Hereford, and Jose Jesus Cervantez of Marion; five daughters, Oralia Tellez, Estella Soto and Janie C. Carrasco, all of Hereford, Odulia Ortiz of Carrizzo Springs and Corina Ellis of Taylor; 49 grandchildren; 115 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
