HEREFORD - Dick Ellis, 95, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Shultz officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford.
Mr. Ellis was born May 3, 1913, in Goldthwaite. He married Ruby Burdine on Sept. 8, 1934, in Lamesa.
He had farmed in Castro and Deaf Smith counties since 1936, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hereford.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a brother, Buck Ellis of Lamesa; a brother-in-law, Wendell Burdine and wife Wanda of Hereford; and a sister-in-law, Inavey Carlisle of Lubbock.
The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Senior Citizens, 426 Ranger St., Hereford, TX 79045.

HEREFORD - Ruby Ellis, 95, died Friday, March 5, 2010.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Shultz officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Ruby was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Rochester to C.B. and Ella Twiner Burdine. She married Dick Ellis on Sept. 8, 1934, in Lamesa. Ruby's favorite pastime was working in her flower garden and taking care of her house plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Ellis; and two brothers, Irvin Burdine and Lester Burdine.
Survivors include a brother, Wendell Burdine and wife Wanda of Hereford; a sister, Inavey Carlisle of Lubbock; three nieces, Rene Pennington and husband Douglas of Fredericksburg, Brenda Cagle and husband Sam and Janet Stone and husband Mike, all of Amarillo; and a nephew, Brian Burdine of New York.
The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Senior Citizens, 426 Ranger St., Hereford, TX. 79045.
