*Obituary Betty Evarts Gilbert
HEREFORD - Betty Jane Gilbert, 80, died Thursday, July 27, 2006.
Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Peach, pastor of Frio Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilbert was born May 19, 1926, in Eddy County, N.M., to John E. and Gladys McCoy Evarts. She married her lifelong sweetheart of 59 years, J.D. Gilbert, in 1946, in Artesia, N.M.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Doyal Gilbert of Pampa; a daughter, Karen Elaine Schroeder of Lebanon, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to the Hereford Senior Citizens Center, 426 Ranger, Hereford, TX 79045.
