Delbert Lee (Duke) Smith, Jr., 48, died Sunday in Saudi Arabia as the result of a massive coronary.

His wife, Janie, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Witherspoon of Hereford.

Smith was an executive officer for Bevel & Co., a firm of Washington, D.C., architects, builders and contractors, in their Saudi Arabia offices. He and his wife lived near Al Khobar, Arabia.

Funeral services are being arranged with Gilliland-Wilson Funeral Home, pending arrival of the body from Saudi Arabia.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Douglas of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Mrs. Gary Wilson of Provo, Utah, David, a student at Texas A&M, and Jay, a student at San Marcos Academy; his mother, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
