*Obituary
Funeral services for G.W. Smith, age 63, were held Monday, June 9 at four o'clock in the family home in West Hereford, and interment followed in the local cemetery. Rev. V.M. Cloyd conducted the services.
Mr. Smith, who had been in ill health for several years, passed away Sunday night. He was engaged in the repair and wrecking business, having been a resident of Hereford since 1907, moving here from Missouri.
Mr. Smith was born in Warren county, Missouri, November 12, 1866. He moved to Boone county in 1893, and it was there in 1895 he married Miss Gertrude Kirkman, who with two children and one grandson survives him. He also has one living sister, Mrs. Clyde Settle of Kansas City, Kansas.
Mr. Smith came to Hereford in the early days and engaged in the jewelry business for a number of years.
Deceased is survived by his widow, a daughter, Bonnie Jean Smith; a son, G.W., Jr., and a grandson, Robert Bruce Bentley.
