Cecil Walker Dies Of Heart Attack

Cecil R. Walker, 61 of 1051 Seventh Ct., a resident here for the past four years, died suddenly Friday from what a coroner's jury assembled by Justice of the Peace Tomas Martinez at Mora determined was an acute heart attack. Mr. Walker had been engaged in the lumbering business in the Rio La Casa area where he owned a small ranch in Mora County, and had gone there Friday afternoon to look after his interests there. Not returning Friday night or Sunday, his wife, Mrs. Amy E. Walker, a registered nurse who is employed at the Meadows Home for the Aged, went to the ranch to find out the cause of his delayed return. Upon arriving at the Rio La Casa she found her husband slumped in his pickup truck and apparently dead. Mora county officials were summoned and the body was removed to Las Vegas for examination. The inquest was held at Mora.

Besides his wife, Mr. Walker is survived by two daughters, Cecilia Elverda of Las Vegas and Mrs. Laura Ann Bish of Rockpoint, Ariz., and his mother, Mrs. Minnie Walker of Las Vegas.

The body accompanied by members of the family was taken to his former home in Hereford, Tex., for burial in the family plot. Funeral services were held there this afternoon. Local arrangements were in charge of the Rogers Mortuary.
